Cosmetic Nurse: RN, NP or PA - Bend, OR

Overview:
The medical support department is the patient service interface for patient care and medical treatment. The main role of the medical support department is to act as the initial medical contact for patients and to support the medical providers.

The Cosmetics Nurse is a key element in the patient relations component of the clinic. The RN/NP functions as a member of the health team. The primary roles of the RN/NP are; preparation of patient services, compilation of statistical information regarding patient treatments, coordination of patient visits, and quality communication with the medical providers, patient and clinical support staff within their scope of practice. The RN/NP must comply with all State and Federal regulations and standards.

The Registered Nurse or Nurse Practitioner working in the area of Cosmetic Dermatology works as a member of the Cosmetic Dermatology team. The RN/NP functions to provide services at the the clinic beyond the scope of the Esthetician. Treatments/ services provided by the RN/NP include laser, Injectables, dermal fillers, and consultations with patients in accordance with the respective scope of practice.

Responsibilities:
• The RN/NP specializing in the practice of cosmetics will be knowledgeable regarding all products, lasers, treatment options and procedures that he/she is using.
• Work within their scope of practice to conduct treatment consultation to identify client goals and determine/recommend services and products to achieve optimal results.
• Thoroughly and accurately reviews client history prior to treatment.
• Provides services such as IPL Photo Rejuvenation, (photofacial),and cosmetic injectables and dermal fillers.
• Practices all sanitation and safety guidelines as required by the Department of Health & Safety, OSHA, the State of Oregon and clinic.
• Is Responsible for serving patients in a timely manner while providing a high standard of care consistent with the expectations of clinic.
• Work to build and maintain client data base including follow up calls, reminder calls and participation in marketing efforts of clinic.
• Stays current on topics related to cosmetic treatments and attends appropriate trainings, meets as needed with product representatives.
• Attend staff meetings, trainings and other events as required.
• Maintains Inventory and orders product/ supplies as needed.
• Communicates with Physicians and Clinic Providers on a regular basis to assure that any patient concerns or issues are addressed in an appropriate and timely manner.
• Works independently under the guidance of a Physician to coordinate patient visits and treatment functions.
• Other duties as assigned

Require Qualifications
:
• Current Oregon RN license (min)
• Current NP or PA license preferred
• Cosmetic certification (preferred)
• Current CPR certification
• Computer literate
• Legible handwriting
• Knowledge of medical terminology including specific dermatologic terms
• Exceptional verbal / written communication skills
• Must be well organized and detail oriented
• Must exercise proper etiquette with patients and co-workers
• Medical Aesthetic training (preferred)
