Overview:
The Electrical Engineer will report to the Director of Reliability and work with the VP of Engineering and his team in the development of new solar power inverter products and functionalities. Responsibilities include detailed design review of new and existing grid-linked solar power inverters, component-level reliability assessment, troubleshooting of engineering prototypes, functional testing of engineering prototypes, qualification testing, and reporting.
The goals and objectives of this position include: ensuring that all new inverter designs that are released for production have had undergone a thorough review for robustness and long-term reliability and employing lessons learned from earlier products as well as personal experience, research, and analysis.

Responsibilities:
• Directly plan and execute the analysis and review of new inverter designs
• Perform any research necessary to quantify component-level performance and reliability
• Assemble component-level reliability data into an overall database to be used in reliability modeling efforts
• Generate a design guide containing design rules for engineering high reliability solar power inverters
• Perform FMEA
• Perform general electrical troubleshooting of inverters
• Plan and execute qualification testing of new inverter designs, including:
o HALT
o Compliance testing
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelors or Masters in Electrical Engineering
• At least 2 years of product development experience on industrial or consumer electronics
• Knowledge and experience with formal product design processes and configuration control
• Experience with product qualification testing
• Experience with automated testing
• Computer skills required: Office
• Computer skills desired: LabView, Matlab, C, Assembly Language, Relex
